This Tea Cozy is Mine!

Since I received the lovely tea set that I requested for Christmas, I had to pick out some nice fabric and make a tea cozy to keep it warm. That was my project for today and I am quite pleased with the way it turned out.

My Tea CozyI used the same brown paper bag pattern I had saved from the first tea cozy I made for Kathy which you can see HERE, the one with the M stitched on it, since my tea pot measured just about the same size.

My Tea CozyDon't you just love this fabric? I had purchased a half-yard cut of each of these Heritage House fabrics from Grace Full Creations not too long ago, and I used the yellow background print as the border. I just love the blue in these fabrics!

I also used one layer of insulated batting and one layer of regular batting on each side of the tea cozy, so I think my tea will stay nice and warm on these cold winter days!

What are you doing to stay warm this winter? Anything fun?

Colorful Fabric Surprise waiting for me!

For the past week, I have been up north with my family enjoying the most relaxing and refreshing vacation on a beautiful lake in the mountains. We did a little bit of everything vacation-like: a little swimming, a little boating, a little resting, a little playing, and of course (more than) a little shopping! In particular, my daughter and I spent some time on two different days at our favorite vacation shops, including Keepsake Quilting and Patternworks in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. I'll be sharing our purchases from vacation in another post in the very near future.

Today I want to show you what George the mailman delivered to me. It makes me happy just thinking about it! Of course it's my package of 125 fat quarters from Ronna at Grace Full Creations which I mentioned having ordered recently. I hope some of you took advantage of this fabulous offer too. Take a look at what Ronna picked out for me...

Fat Quarters from Grace Full CreationsScrumptious, wouldn't you say?

Fat Quarters from Grace Full CreationsJust look at all that potential! Such a nice rainbow of colors, and all so new and fresh and pretty! Ooooh, I just giggle looking at it!

If it weren't for all the purchases I made on vacation, I would be sorely tempted to call Ronna and ask for another box. But I dare not. I will be happy looking at what I have and thinking of all the fun things I can do with 125 fat quarters of beautiful fabric. Oh, the possibilities!

I hope all of you are enjoying your summer or winter, as the case may be. We still have a few more little fun things planned with the kids before school starts up again in September, and of course some fun projects to show you and even a summer giveaway coming up in another week or so. Just as soon as I can get it all together, I'll post the details.

Now I must go look at the fabric one more time before throwing some burgers on the grill!

Happy Stitching!

A bargain I just couldn't pass up...

I'm a very frugal person by nature. Ask anyone who knows me. I won't pay full price for anything if I can help it, and I actively search out good deals on the items I need or want.

The other day I received an email from Grace Full Creations, an online quilt store that I'm sure some of you are familiar with. Ronna Ross, the owner and a very helpful and nice lady, will be reworking the website with all kinds of new and improved features. To get ready for this big move, she is offering some really great deals on her fabric and other items as well.

I checked out the Fat Quarter Sale and you won't believe the great deal I got!

I ordered 125 assorted fat quarters for $125...that's just $1 each! And because my purchase was $125, I also got free shipping! Of course you know that is why I ordered 125, and not just the 100 that I originally wanted to order! Since shipping would have been as much as $13, I figured I was getting 25 more fat quarters for only an extra $12! What a deal!

Ronna also has lots of bundled fabrics, yardage and kits at good deals. So if you're looking to fill out your fabric stash, pop on over to Grace Full Creations and visit Ronna before she closes on July 15 for her great makeover. You won't be disappointed!

Happy Stitching!
